A client recently asked me about taking her homestead exemption with her if she were to sell her home and then buy another.

There's a very good set of formulas for the portability issue on the Manatee Property Apprraiser's website, at the link below:

One can also visit the website to discover the current market and assessed values of a property, so be able to enter numbers into the equations.
