Once again, Anna Maria Island is in the news, this time as a result of our 'booming' economy.
Sarasota Herald-Tribune reporter, Michael Braga, has hit on the secret to our success: a weekly rental policy in at least parts of all three island cities, Holmes Beach, Bradenton Beach and Anna Maria.
What he doesn't say, while comparing our fair island to places south, including Longboat Key, Siesta Key and Venice, is that Anna Maria Island has charm, a very low-rise style, and that certain something that makes ours a welcoming and welcome addition to nearly every vacation.
For those of us who actually live on the island, it's a vacation every day.
