Here's a nice article about the Christmas Bird Count (CBC) on Anna Maria Island. I participated in the count during the early morning hours, then went to work.
Nicest bird of the morning was an Orange-crowned Warbler, in its winter plumage (sans orange) on Leffis Key at the south end of the Island. Other warblers included Prairie, Palm, Yellow-throated and Common Yellowthroat.

It was a nice group of birders, too. Just sorry I had to work, since it was such a beautiful day, although a bit chilly.
