More and more, homes and condos bought on Anna Maria Island are becoming vacation homes. Some vacations are longer than others, for example, as retirees may 'vacation' for as many as seven or eight months on our fair shores.
But often enough, the buyers are planning only a brief use in any year at first, and thinking about retiring in 10 or more years. For most, it means they want to obtain some rental income for their investment.
That may have different effect on mortgages, taxes and other elements of investment planning. So here are three simple things to consider when buying a vacation home.
